(BC) PLDI PILOT FACILITATION TRAINING FALL 2025

HYBRID FORMAT: Zoom Sessions, Self-paced online and 1.5 days in-person in Vancouver

This pilot training is only open to BC residents who are graduates of the PLDI Core Training- “Who Am I as a leader?” also know as PLDI Level 1.

September 11 – October 15, 2025

A mixed training, with sessions both online and in person over the course of 1 month culminating in a 1.5 day training session:

  • (2) facilitated live group sessions with peers on Zoom
    • Session 1: Thursday September 11th from 9 am- 12pm Pacific Time (info session)
    • Session 3: Thursday September 25th from 9 am- 12pm Pacific Time
  • (2) self-paced modules via our e-learning platform in between facilitated Zoom sessions
    • Session 2: from September 11th to the 19th
    • Session 4: from September 25th to October 9th 
  • 2 days of in person sessions and practicums:
    • Session 5 & 6: October 14th and 15th 2025
  • Please note: After applicants attend the first Zoom info session and complete the first self-paced session on our e-learning platform, their applications will be reviewed by the PLDI Peer Committee.
  • At that point, applicants will either be accepted, waitlisted or not on this occasion for the remaining two sessions and the in-person 1.5-day training practicum in Vancouver. Because this is a pilot training, the first two sessions are used to assess participant interest and to ensure diversity among participants.

    Come join us for this dynamic pilot for PLDI graduates of BC where you will learn to :

  • Understand the functions of facilitation, the stages of group development, and the importance of neutrality and inclusion. 
  • Use practical strategies to keep participants engaged, handle distracting behaviors and create safer spaces. 
  • Understand and apply basic facilitation and communication techniques. 
  • Learn about cultural safety, problem resolution, decision making and summarizing key take aways and outcomes. 
  • Identify and select technical support tools relevant to  facilitation. 
  • Apply leadership practices in a facilitation context. 
  • Gain confidence, presentation and time management ease as a facilitator.
